Cutting Cost in rural america

Hi, I'm Millie. As someone born & raised in rural America,

I've learned a few things over the years about cutting cost.

I'm always looking for more ways to cut cost as well.

With this blog I'm hoping to share ways to save money

in this struggling economy. Let's face it, it's only getting

harder to make ends meet right?

I'm sure everyone has found some ways to save money.

I also think where we live can offer some ways to save money.

As I said, living in Rural America has many advantages.

We're able to raise our own food. Both with raising animals for meat & gardening.

Not to mention fruit trees, & bushes.

We can hang our laundry out to dry. Keep our windows open all night if we wish

for the fresh air. We spend long hours outside in the summer which

cuts cost on electric. We're able to entertain in our own back yards.

Even weddings, reunions, & graduation parties which cuts out the cost

of renting a hall. Tent rentals are cheaper than renting halls.

"Bring a dish to pass" is cheaper than catering.

When shopping, we buy store brands over brand names. They are

usually as good if not better than brand names. This goes not only for cleaning products

but, many food items as well. Baking your own cakes, pies, cookies

instead for buying them, can save you money too.

so, these are just a few ideas off the top of my head.

now it's your turn, let me know how you're cutting cost in this economy.
